Taken
After taking me to my favorite Mediterranean restaurant on Thursday (we celebrated Vday this week since we were in STG over the weekend), Sam took me to see the new Liam Neeson movie “Taken” – not exactly the romantic comedy we were originally going for when we got the theater. But the lady at the counter recommended it over any of the others showing and we had a free pass so we consented. The story line is about an ex-spy whose daughter travels to Europe with a friend and gets kidnapped by a group of Albanian human traffickers specializing in kidnapping young tourists, addicting them to drugs, and selling them as prostitutes (like I said, NOT a feel good, happy movie…) Anyway, it WAS action packed and I did stay awake the whole movie – as opposed to the last time we went to the movies =)
So yeah, pretty much Liam (the spy) impresses all by his hand-to-hand combat skilz and rescues his daughter within the 96 hour time frame he has (that is before the girls can’t be traced and are never found again). Every single sex trafficking character in the movie gets violently killed single-handedly by Liam and the audience is A-OK with that.
So on to the real question….
