I’m not at all what you’d call a feminist. But yes I am of the female persuasion. And when a lone female horse goes up against the ‘Big Boys’ you better believe that I’m ditchin’ ‘Bird’ to pick her. =)

Rachel Alexandra. That’s my Preakness pick and I’m betting the entire balance of the FIBM.

Besides any woman that has two first names has got to have something up her sleeve.

Also, another little know fact is that the jockey that rode Mine that Bird at the Derby (Calvin Borel) is really Rachel’s jockey. (She did not run in the Derby). And even though Bird is running the Preakness too, Borel chose to saddle Rachel instead. Hum….I’m guessing that Borel knows something that I don’t since that’s a virtually unheard of move.
