R-E-S-P-E-C-T
Lately, we’ve all witnessed in the media super inappropriate and disrespectful outbursts. And it’s all around us – in music, politics, and athletics.

What is going on???
I say tough break to Serena, Kanye, and Joe. In the end, you can’t change the call and still lost your match, you can’t change the music video award, and whether you like it or not Obama IS still the President. Outbursts of anger and insincere apologies aren’t going to change anything.
There is no amount of ‘passion’ that should ever warrant the public humiliation of another human being just because they are of a different opinion. AND the worst part of all is that these kind of people are the role models we have set up in our society.
Somehow we have to counteract this influence so that our youth don’t actually believe that “There is no Dynasty without the Nasty.”

This blog is good.
Well said!!
The interesting thing is that Joe Wilson’s outburst was the only truth spoken that night. Mr. Obama told at least 3 outright lies and I’m glad somebody called him on that one.
Like I said, it’s not the disagreeing that was wrong but the WAY each person handled it that was completely inappropriate AND disrespectful.
If you watch the video, you’ll notice that Serena may not have even touched the line with her foot. Kanye probably wasn’t the only one that thought Beyonce’s video was better (and that the MTV award shouldn’t go to a country singer). AND Joe obviously disagrees with Obamacare.
BUT that is NOT the point.
The point is that there is a time and a place and a manner for voicing. And all 3 got it way wrong!!!
I so agree with all you said.
These people have plenty of other forums where they are welcome and encouraged to say “Beyonce got robbed,” “I didn’t touch the line,” or “Obama lies.”
Even though none of them whined “It’s not fair!” they were acting like a bunch of egocentric three year olds.
… and boy how our society (especially the media) likes to give egocentric three year olds a HUGE pulpit to scream from…
Which kind of reminds me of this one time in testimony meeting where some guy brought his kid up to bear his testimony. As he was holding him in his arms, the kid reached out, grabbed the microphone and SCREAMED into it.
The parent pulled him back, the kid giggled with glee, the parent told him to stop, and then let the kid go. Again, the kid pulled himself down to microphone level and SCREAMED again.
Some parents are just dumb.
